We are pleased to announce that the "7th International Dental Technology Academic Congress and the 46th Annual Meeting of the Japan Dental Technology Academy (joint meeting)" will be held on January 25-26, 2025, at the Senri Life Science Center. The theme of the congress is "Sending out to the World! Fusion of Analog and Digital Technologies."
Currently, there is concern that the future of Japan's dental technology industry is uncertain. However, by reflecting on the evolution of our country's dental technology history, we believe that the industry should aim to be one that leads the world, offering a bright future for dental medicine. In light of the growing attention to digital transformation (DX) in dental care, it is crucial to consider what is needed to merge Japan's traditionally strong analog technologies with new digital ones. We hope to create a congress that helps us discover part of the answer to broadcasting Japan's world-renowned, high-quality, and highly precise dental technology both domestically and internationally.
Meanwhile, this academic congress in Osaka is positioned as a precursor to "EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai," which will be held from April 13 to October 2025. As part of the special lectures, we will highlight the digital society with a presentation titled "Future Society with Avatars and Generative AI" by Dr. Shogo Nishiguchi (Vice President & COO of AVITA Corporation). Additionally, to energize the near-future dental technology industry, we have planned presentations by young dental technicians and, fitting for an international conference, lectures from abroad, including from the Republic of China (Taiwan Dental Technologist Association). To ensure a memorable experience, we have also organized a competition showcasing works made using dental digital equipment and materials. Furthermore, a new initiative called "Carving Dojo" will be held to reassess the practice of "dental carving," where students from dental technician training institutions and novice dental technicians can receive direct advice from veteran dental technicians.
This international academic congress will be held in conjunction with the 46th Annual Meeting of the Japan Dental Technology Academy and the 2024 Kinki Branch Academic Congress, with significant sponsorship from various companies.
We are diligently preparing an international academic congress that will excite the younger generation. We sincerely look forward to your participation in what promises to be a congress full of valuable information not only for dental technicians but also for dentists and dental hygienists.
